CyanoRisk
Cyanobacterial blooms in recreational sites of the Champagne-Ardenne region: causes, ecological consequences and health risks
-

ZARG
Summary

The CyanoRisk project aims to investigate the causes and impacts of toxic cyanobacterial blooms in two recreational sites of the Zone Atelier Argonne (Lake Bairon and the Ayvelles gravel pits). It combines ecological, ecotoxicological, hydrogeological and socio-economic approaches to characterize cyanobacterial communities, toxin production and trophic transfer, and associated ecological and human health risks.

General project

CyanoRisk develops an integrated approach to analyse environmental and anthropogenic drivers of cyanobacterial blooms, assess their ecological and health impacts, and identify management levers for recreational socio-ecosystems.

SEBIO's contribution to the program

SEBIO leads the project and is responsible for cyanobacterial ecology, biomonitoring, cyanotoxin and cyanopeptide analyses, ecotoxicological interpretation and scientific coordination.
