Summary of research and educational activities

As a Research Engineer in geo-natural and anthropized environments within UMR-I-02 SEBIO (URCA site) since December 2018, my work focuses on three main areas:

  • Development of data integration methodologies (mono- or multidisciplinary), notably through indices. I am currently working on a Weight-of-Evidence approach that combines data on environmental chemistry, bioaccumulation, in situ biomarkers, and laboratory bioassays to assess environmental quality. I also develop approaches focused on individuals and based on biological responses to provide an integrated diagnosis of organism’s health status. In collaboration with other researchers in the unit, I co-develop in vitro bioassays using freshwater environmental species and their referential for interpretation, to enhance the bioassay component of the integrated approach and improve toxicity assessments of substances or environmental extracts.
  • Long-term monitoring of pilot sites within the UMR for the development and validation of new biomarkers of interest, and long-term evaluation of our biomonitoring tools. These monitoring efforts will ultimately help assess, for instance, the impacts of global change on organism responses studied within the unit.
  • Data management for research projects and the unit more broadly. This includes writing data management plans, designing databases, and processing, analyzing, and interpreting data using various computational and statistical tools, ensuring data quality, traceability, and sustainability for reliable long-term analyses.
