My research aims to gain knowledge about the mechanisms by which environmental pollutants act on crustaceans (copepods/shrimps), particularly endocrine disruptors, with regard to physiological functions relating to endocrinology, reproduction, development and behaviour. This research improves our understanding of how organisms subjected to environmental stresses are plastic, adaptable and sensitive, and identifies the most relevant indicators for assessing their health status. The scientific approach implemented enables investigations at both the individual and sub-individual levels. At the individual level, bioassays are developed, while at the sub-individual level, biomarkers are developed. Both targeted and open strategies (transcriptomics) are used.
