Summary of research and educational activities

Summary of research activities:

My research aims to characterize response and adaptation signatures in different models of aquatic animals living in ecosystems subjected to anthropogenic stresses (chemical or biological contaminants, temperature, hypoxia). My interest is particularly focused on:

  • candidate genes involved in different functions classically studied in ecotoxicology (detoxification, antioxidant system)
  • energy metabolism as a physiological function of particular interest to develop new biomarkers in the perspective of their use in biomonitoring of aquatic environments: pathways for synthesis and management of cellular energy, through the study of molecular responses (mitochondrial genes, glycolysis genes) but also biochemical (energetic nucleotides, mitochondrial electron transport system, enzymes regulating energy balance).
  • comparison of ecotoxicological responses between sympatric dreissenid species to deepen knowledge regarding the levels of response and sensitivity of these species.

Educational responsibilities:

  • Director of studies and responsible for the 2nd year of the Master’s program in Risks and Environment, Biodiversity, Health - Environment track at URCA
  • Responsibility of 6 courses units in Bachelor and Master’s degrees

Other responsibilities:

  • Elected member of the National Council of Universities (CNU), Section 68
  • Elected member of the Master’s Committee of the Natural Sciences Faculty
  • Elected member of the DDRSE Committee of the Natural Sciences Faculty
  • DDRSE Ambassador for the UMR-I 02 SEBIO of the URCA
  • Member of the Unit Council of UMR-I 02 SEBIO
  • Animator of the Energy and Metabolisms axis at UMR-I 02 SEBIO from 2015 to 2023
