From 26 to 28 February, INERIS and UMLN, two sites of UMR-I 02 SEBIO, took part in the Coastal Health Workshop in Bath, England. Organised by the UK Health Security Agency and CEFAS, this workshop focused on the regulatory requirements for assessing immune disruption in aquatic environments.

The workshop aimed to:
1) assess the current state of knowledge of immunotoxicological dysfunction in aquatic life;
- gain a better understanding of how chemicals affect the immune systems of vertebrates and invertebrates;
- identify research needs for the development of future chemical monitoring and risk assessment tools for aquatic environments, in order to support the identification of immunotoxicological risks as part of a ‘one health’ approach.

In this context, Anne Bado-Nilles led the session 'Screening and monitoring tools: preliminary proposals for integration into environmental risk assessment and/or monitoring programmes'. Tiphaine Monsinjon and Thomas Knigge presented an overview of the study of immune responses in fish and crustaceans, respectively.
